UPS has just added 245 more compressed natural gas (CNG) delivery trucks to its massive worldwide fleet. The new trucks grow UPS’s Green fleet to 1,900 alternatively fueled trucks worldwide.
The new CNG fueled trucks will be operating in Colorado and in 4 different cities around California.
Company executives state that the company’s electric and hybrid vehicle fleet is a part UPS’s on-going mission to reduce their carbon footprint. The executives also state that the new CNG trucks are just another addition to the growing number of alternatively fueled trucks found within UPS’ Green Trucking Fleet that are powered by everything from propane to electricity.
UPS believes in a “rolling laboratory” approach to growing and developing their Green Vehicles.
